Virginia Democratic Representative Gerry Connolly, ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, died Wednesday morning at the age of 75.
“It is with immense sadness that we share that our devoted
and beloved father, husband, brother, friend, and public servant, Congressman
Gerald E. Connolly, passed away peacefully at his home this morning, surrounded
by his family,” the statement read.
“Gerry lived to give back to others and improve our
community. He served the disadvantaged and those without a voice. He always
stood for what was right and just,” a statement from his family added.
