Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman traveled to the
border between Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties, where, he said,
criminals once crossed freely into Los Angeles, believing they would face
minimal consequences for robbery, theft, and other crimes.
He declared that times have changed. No more leniency. With
a new district attorney in office, criminals in Los Angeles County will now
face prosecution and full accountability for their illegal acts.
We cannot forget that Los Angeles County has become a
dangerous place for residents and the increasingly fewer visitors who come to
it. Now, Hochman has promised to reverse several of the new policies enacted by
his predecessor, hoping that his actions will bring peace back to the county,
which was once a hotbed of criminals.
