The U.S. Senate unanimously passed a bill that would eliminate tip taxes

In a rare move, the U.S. Senate unanimously passed a bill that would eliminate tip taxes by 100 votes to 0, bringing President Donald Trump's key campaign promise closer to reality.

The legislation was initially introduced in January by Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz and enjoyed bipartisan co-sponsorship, including Nevada Democratic Senators Jacky Rosen and Catherine Cortez Masto.

On Tuesday, Senator Rosen requested a unanimous vote on the legislation, meaning only one senator would be needed to block it, something she believed would happen.

However, in a surprising move, no senators objected, allowing the legislation to pass unanimously.
