Villa Madero, Michoacán.- The discovery of six bodies in
three different locations in the municipality of Villa Madero points to a
dispute between organized crime groups over the plaza, where they exchanged
gunfire in the area.
Two abandoned vehicles with gunshot wounds and one burned
vehicle were also found.
According to reports, last Saturday, authorities were
informed of a shootout between rival organized crime groups near the
municipality of Villa Madero. However, it was during Monday afternoon and early
Tuesday morning that local residents began receiving reports of bodies at
different points in the town that connects La Cuesta de los Fierros to the town
of Las Pilitas, in the community of El Ranchito.
In that area, a completely burned pickup truck with license
plate NL 027 5C was found, and the charred bodies of three men were observed in
the back of the truck. One of them still had a bandage over his eyes, and all
of them had suffered from the coup de grâce. They are still unidentified and
are between 25 and 30 years old.
At a second location, but in the hilly area connecting the
Las Pilitas ranch to El Ranchito, the bodies of two men, also between 25 and 30
years old, were found on a piece of land. One of them was decapitated, his head
on one side, and the other had his throat cut. Both were wearing tactical gear.
Also found at the scene were a light gray Hummer pickup
truck with license plate PHP012B and a white Chevrolet Tahoe pickup truck with
no license plates, both of which showed gunshot wounds.
The scene revealed the magnitude of the shootout between
members of criminal groups fighting over the area.
At a third location, they found the body of a man in his
20s, with gunshot wounds, lying under the Iron Bridge in the Piumo
neighborhood.
Authorities are continuing the corresponding investigation
into the multiple homicide to determine if the victims are related and to
clarify the facts.
