Uruapan, Michoacán.- A human body was found floating in the
Cupatitzio River, near the Valle de las Delicias neighborhood in Uruapan.
So far, the identity and gender of the deceased have not
been determined.
The discovery was reported by passersby who noticed the body
stuck in debris, specifically some tires, and immediately called 911.
Police officers responded to the scene and cordoned off the
area while awaiting the arrival of the State Attorney General's Office.
Uruapan Volunteer Firefighters were in charge of recovering
the body from the river.
For now, the cause of death remains unclear, and an autopsy
will be performed as required by law.
