China unveils the world's first AI system that distinguishes
real from fake nuclear weapons.
The system, developed by the China Institute of Atomic
Energy, uses deep learning and cryptography for detection, according to the
South China Morning Post.
It is explained that it works by training millions of
neutron simulations (real and fake warheads).
It also uses a polyethylene wall with 400 holes to alter the
geometry, but allows radiation signals to pass through.
Finally, it can reportedly verify a warhead's chain reaction
capability without knowing its design secrets.
