Former Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva finally had enough of the Democratic Party, announcing Saturday that he's officially leaving his extremism behind in a blistering speech and post on X.

He has formally left the Dark Side:

Former Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva is now a registered Republican after leaving the Democratic Party.

"As of today, I am leaving the party of paid protests, purple hair, and pronouns. And I am joining the party of faith, family, and freedom: the Republican Party," Villanueva declared Saturday at the Unite Inland Empire Conservative Conference.

"Today I announced that I am ending 44 years as a registered Democrat and joining the Republican Party. It's time to make California purple again!" he posted on X.

Villanueva had previously shown signs of being tired of the Democrats' antics.
