Just before Democratic Senator Cory Booker began his 24-hour
rant/protest against President Trump, one of his staffers was being arrested by
Capitol Police for possessing an unlicensed firearm:
"Yesterday afternoon, a Member of Congress escorted an
employee with identification through the security checkpoint of the Hart Senate
Office Building. Later that evening, in front of the Senate Galleries, the
employee with identification, who is a retired law enforcement officer, told
our officers he was armed."
"The employee, Kevin A. Batts, 59, of New Jersey, was
arrested for carrying an unlicensed handgun. All weapons are prohibited on
Capitol grounds, even if you are a retired law enforcement officer or hold a
concealed carry permit from another state or the District of Columbia."
