President Donald Trump informed the world about ongoing
talks with South Korea and potential talks with China under their newly
implemented reciprocal tariff system, prompting many foreign countries to come
to the negotiating table.
"I just had an excellent call with the acting president
of South Korea," the president announced Tuesday on Truth Social. "We
discussed their huge and unsustainable surplus, tariffs, shipbuilding,
large-scale purchases of U.S. LNG, their joint venture for a pipeline in
Alaska, and payment for the significant military protection we provide to South
Korea," rsbnetwork reported.
This conversation comes ahead of the implementation of a
massive 25% tariff on the country and amid a planned meeting between South
Korea's trade minister and the U.S. trade representative on the issue,
according to Reuters.
