The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected an order that would
have allowed thousands of federal employees laid off by the Trump
administration to return to work.
The Supreme Court responded to an emergency appeal from the
Trump administration after a federal judge in California ordered 16,000
employees to be reinstated, according to The Associated Press.
These employees were laid off as part of the Trump
administration's attempt to downsize the government.
Due to the court order, the employees will remain on paid
administrative leave, justthenews said.
