Authorities believe the horrifying murder of two parents by
their adolescent son earlier this year was only the beginning of a scheme that
would lead to a fourth assassination attempt on President Donald Trump, they
claimed Sunday.
Investigators believe that Nikita Casap, a 17-year-old boy
from Waukesha, Wisconsin, committed a double homicide, leaving his mother and
stepfather dead as he sought independence and resources to carry out a
presidential attack.
“The killing of his parents appeared to be an effort to
obtain the financial means and autonomy necessary to carry out his plan,” FBI
agents state in a recent affidavit.
Last week, authorities confined Casap pending his trial. He
is facing two counts of first-degree homicide, among other accusations.
