President Donald Trump's approval rating has reached
near-record levels, despite several days of outrage from Democrats,
establishment Republicans, and the mainstream media over the president's
ambitious trade moves.
According to a new poll conducted by J.L. Partners in
collaboration with the Daily Mail, which surveyed 1,000 registered voters
between March 31 and April 3, support for Trump increased even after he imposed
sweeping tariffs on dozens of trading partners on April 2.
The survey indicated that Trump's approval rating rose to
53%, a four-point improvement from last week's poll of 49%. The Daily Mail
called the result "surprising" considering the intense pressure and
stock market plunge that occurred on Thursday and Friday.
