A report released Monday revealed what former U.S. Attorney
for the Eastern District of Virginia Jessica Aber, 43, who was found dead over
the weekend, had been investigating and prosecuting.
According to the New York Post, Aber "had been in
charge of some of the most significant cases involving leaks at the CIA and
fraud committed by Russian nationals in the United States."
Authorities are investigating the cause of Aber's death,
according to other reports. Alexandria police found her unconscious at her home
shortly before 9:20 a.m. on Saturday.
Before resigning in January following President Donald
Trump's inauguration, the Biden-nominated lawyer achieved one of her most
notable judicial victories when former CIA analyst Asif Rahman, 34, pleaded
guilty to leaking top-secret documents detailing Israel's plan to attack Iran
last year.
The high-profile case involved Rahman, who published
classified documents on Telegram revealing details of Israel's planned October
attack, ultimately forcing the Israeli government to delay its retaliatory
strike against Tehran.
