MEXICO CITY—As part of security efforts to combat organized crime, Mexico and the United States launched Operation “High Eagle,” an operation focused on addressing the use of drones by criminal groups.
The strategy is part of security cooperation between the two countries and includes the exchange of information to strengthen investigations and actions against organizations linked to illicit activities.
As part of the reported results, a suspected member of organized crime, known by the alias “Pepa,” was arrested in Chihuahua. He was wanted by authorities for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking.
Meanwhile, in Guerrero, Mexican authorities located and dismantled three suspected drug labs. According to a report released by the US Embassy in Mexico, these actions were made possible with the support of shared intelligence. Bilateral cooperation aims to strengthen the capabilities of authorities to detect organized crime operations, particularly those related to drug trafficking and the use of new technologies for criminal activities.
These operations are part of a broader collaboration strategy between Mexico and the United States, in which intelligence sharing and inter-agency coordination have become central tools for combating criminal organizations operating in both countries.
Authorities are continuing their investigations to determine the scope of the operations and the possible involvement of those arrested in other crimes.
