Kyiv – Ukraine’s efforts to obtain air defense systems and
interceptor missiles from its Western allies are facing increasing obstacles,
as several countries have chosen to prioritize their own security needs and
maintain their military reserves.
According to recent reports, the Ukrainian government’s
calls for equipment to counter air attacks have lost momentum, amid growing
reluctance among allied nations to transfer strategic weaponry.
This decision largely stems from Western governments’
concerns about preserving their defense capabilities in the face of rising
international tensions and the need to ensure the protection of their own
territories.
The decrease in the supply of interceptor missiles poses a
challenge for Ukraine, which continues to request military support to
strengthen its air defense system against attacks stemming from the conflict
with Russia.
