US Vice President JD Vance addressed returning US Navy
airmen from an overseas deployment, highlighting their role in military
operations against Iran. During his remarks, he stated that the mission
assigned by President Donald Trump was to neutralize the Islamic Republic's
conventional military capabilities, an objective he asserted had been achieved.
Vance affirmed that US forces successfully executed the
president's orders and declared the Iranian navy completely devastated.
"President Trump asked you to make sure we destroyed Iran's conventional
military, and as we stand here today, their navy is at the bottom of the ocean
and they have no capacity to project power," the vice president declared,
acknowledging the naval personnel's performance.
The official's statements represent one of the strongest
messages issued by the US administration amid the escalating conflict with
Iran. In addition to highlighting the outcome of the military operations, the
speech sought to convey the idea that Tehran's ability to exert military
influence beyond its borders would have been seriously limited following the
recent clashes.
