Trump Pushes for Deep Restructuring of the Federal Government Through New Executive Order

According to various reports, President Donald Trump signed a sweeping Executive Order aimed at transforming the structure of the federal government, a measure that could significantly alter the employment status of thousands of high-ranking public officials.

The order reclassifies more than 8,000 high-level federal employees to an "at-will" service category, which would allow the Executive Branch to remove them from their positions more easily and without the traditional protections offered by the civil service system. According to proponents of the measure, the goal is to strengthen the government's ability to demand results and ensure that officials effectively implement administration policies.

It is also asserted that the reform seeks to eliminate bureaucratic obstacles and facilitate the removal of public servants who, in the administration's judgment, have acted to delay, obstruct, or contravene the government agenda known as "America First." In this context, messages began circulating on social media asserting that "it will no longer be possible to hide behind the protections of the civil service" and that "the era of accountability has arrived," presenting the measure as a mechanism to increase responsibility and efficiency within the federal government.

The initiative is generating significant public support among those who believe it will allow for a more agile administration, better aligned with the Executive's priorities. In any case, the order represents one of the most significant changes in the organization of the federal civil service, expanding the president's powers to manage public administration personnel.
