Riots in France and England after Morocco's World Cup Elimination

The elimination of Morocco's national team at the hands of France in the World Cup triggered a night of tension and unrest in several European cities, particularly Paris and London, where clashes, acts of vandalism, and a significant deployment of security forces were reported.

In the French capital, thousands of fans took to the streets after the match. Although most of the gatherings began peacefully, incidents occurred in various parts of the city involving groups of people who blocked avenues, threw objects at the police, set fire to garbage containers, and damaged street furniture. Officers responded with a large-scale operation to restore order and prevent the riots from spreading to other areas.

Similar scenes were reported in London, where disturbances also took place in neighborhoods with a significant Moroccan community. Videos circulating on social media show tense moments between some attendees and the police, as well as traffic disruptions and large gatherings that prompted increased security in several parts of the city.

Authorities in both countries are continuing their investigations to identify those responsible for the violence and determine the extent of the property damage. They also called for calm and reiterated that the majority of fans enjoyed the match peacefully, and that the disturbances were perpetrated by specific groups and do not represent the behavior of Moroccan fans as a whole.

These incidents once again highlight the challenge European authorities face in ensuring security during high-profile sporting events, especially when the results generate strong reactions among supporters of the participating teams.
