Now that Mexican consulates in the United States are—for the time being—under investigation, and will most likely be closed in the near future, the memory returns of those Mexicans who have "woken up" and distanced themselves from the anti-Republican rhetoric being broadcast from their country of origin.
It was during the 2024 U.S. elections that a significant number of Mexicans—convinced of the Democratic Party's radicalization and the negative changes they were rapidly pushing through the country—decided to cast their votes not only for the Republican Party but specifically for President Donald Trump.
It was in vain that the then-Mexican President, Andrés López, expressed his disapproval of a party that, in practice, demonstrates itself to be on the side of freedom and progress; his fellow citizens supported—and continue to support—the policies of a president who strives, day after day, to create better living conditions for Americans.
Despite the resounding failure of the man also known as AMLO, the Republican Party continues to gain public approval within the country.
In any case, the attempt by Mexican consulates to intervene in the political development of the United States must be investigated and, consequently, face appropriate repercussions—a sentiment shared by both analysts and American citizens alike.
