US President Donald Trump declared that his administration
would soon release what he described as “a great deal of evidence” proving that
the 2020 presidential election was rigged.
During his remarks, Trump also accused California Governor
Gavin Newsom of manipulating the state's election processes through the use of
mail-in ballots. According to the president, this mechanism facilitated
irregularities in the election, although he did not present any concrete
evidence at the time.
These claims add to a series of assertions Trump has made
since 2020 regarding the legitimacy of the election results, which the
mainstream media has attempted to discredit ever since. To date, courts and
electoral bodies have also repeatedly rejected accusations of widespread fraud,
citing a lack of verifiable evidence. However, these claims may soon be
refuted.
The statements have reignited the political debate
surrounding election security, the controversial issue of mail-in voting, and
public trust in democratic processes, while analysts and authorities emphasize
the importance of distinguishing between politically motivated claims and
conclusions supported by official evidence.
