President Donald Trump lashed out at New York mayoral
candidate Zohran Mamdani on Wednesday, suggesting that, depending on the
outcome of the November election, he could use federal powers to exert control
over the city.
“As President of the United States, I will not allow this
communist lunatic to destroy New York. Rest assured, I hold all the reins and
all the cards. I will save New York and make it attractive and great again,
just like I did for the United States!” Trump wrote on X.
Trump also threatened to examine Mamdani’s legal status and
arrest him if he interfered with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)
raids in the city.
