Joseph Tirrell was fired from the Department of Justice

In case you missed it, a long-awaited piece of news has happened: someone at the Department of Justice has been fired—none other than the Director.

Attorney General Pam Bondi fired Justice Department ethics director Joseph Tirrell, who was one of the 20 dismissed employees advising Bondi on how to address conflicts of interest.

Notably, Tirrell worked at the Justice Department for 16 years and advised special counsel Jack Smith on ethical considerations during his criminal proceedings against President Trump. (Bloomberg Law, Axios)
