Tulsi Gabbard confirmed that information about the Iran attack from CNN and The New York Times is based on selected excerpts

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard confirmed Wednesday that recent reports by CNN and The New York Times, citing anonymous sources suggesting that last week's attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities caused only limited damage, are based on selected excerpts from the Pentagon's overall damage assessment.

Both outlets reported that initial US intelligence assessments indicated the attacks were less effective than initially claimed.

“The analysis of the damage to the facilities and the impact of the attacks on Iran's nuclear ambitions is ongoing and could change as more information becomes available. However, the preliminary findings contradict President Donald Trump's repeated claims that the attacks ‘totally and completely destroyed’ Iran's nuclear enrichment facilities,” CNN reported.
