Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Democrat from New
York, did not rule out the possibility of a 2028 presidential bid when asked by
Fox News Digital about a viral video that sparked speculation about a subtle
launch of a future campaign.
“I think what people should be most concerned about is that
Republicans are trying to cut Medicaid right now, and people’s healthcare is in
jeopardy. That’s really my main focus,” she said when asked by Fox News about a
possible presidential bid.
President Donald Trump and Republicans have repeatedly claimed
they are not cutting Medicaid or Medicare benefits, but are instead focused on
eliminating the waste, fraud, and abuse that Elon Musk’s DOGE team has
reportedly identified in both systems.
