Democratic Representative John Mannion of New York launched
an angry outburst against Republican Representative Mike Lawler, also of New
York, during a heated moment in the House of Representatives.
The incident occurred following the passage of a $9.4
billion rescission package aimed at reducing spending previously deemed
wasteful by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Mannion's outburst
occurred in front of several members of Congress and at least two children
present at the time.
"Come on over there and have some courage!"
Mannion yelled at Lawler.
According to Jake Sherman, founder of Punchbowl News,
Mannion's tirade was reportedly triggered by Lawler's presence on the side of
the House normally occupied by Democrats. Lawler subsequently responded to the
incident with a post on Thursday.
