Some Republican leaders are seeking to enact a sweeping
package codifying President Donald Trump's agenda into federal law by July 4.
This implies that the comprehensive policy overhaul could be
in Trump's hands for his signature before the 250th anniversary of the United
States' founding, Fox News reported.
"I've said from the beginning: my goal is for the
president to sign this big, beautiful bill on July 4," House Ways and
Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith, R-Missouri, told Fox News.
House Republicans are hashing out their differences over
clean energy and Medicaid in negotiations to find at least $1.5 trillion in
spending cuts to fund Trump's tax policies.
