United States – When questioned about the shooting at an Oregon school, President Donald Trump highlighted the actions of a gunman who intervened during the incident and helped prevent more serious consequences.
"As bad as it was, we had a great hero who came in and
did his job. Thank God we had him, otherwise it would have been much
worse," the president said, referring to the events.
Trump also emphasized the importance of the man knowing how
to use a firearm in that situation. "It's a terrible thing, but thank God
there was a man who had a gun and knew how to use it," he stated.
The president's remarks focused on this individual's
intervention and the role he played in containing the emergency, which, in
fact, would have been much worse without his intervention.
