Alex Bruesewitz, one of President Donald Trump's top
advisors and a key figure in the White House's digital strategy, launched
strong accusations regarding the existence of foreign influence operations
that, he claimed, seek to interfere in US politics and public debate through
covert campaigns on digital platforms.
During recent statements, Bruesewitz asserted that
investigations are already underway concerning propaganda networks funded from
abroad. He explained that international governments and corporations are using
US content creators, influencers, and media figures as indirect tools to shape
public opinion and affect the country's internal affairs.
The Republican strategist maintained that many of these
operations work discreetly, leveraging the massive reach of social media,
podcasts, digital channels, and video platforms to disseminate carefully
crafted political narratives. According to him, some content creators may not
even be aware of who is actually funding certain campaigns or messages that
they end up promoting.
Bruesewitz asserted that the objective of these alleged
influence structures would be to manipulate sensitive debates related to elections,
immigration, national security, foreign policy, and ideological polarization
within the United States. He also warned that the Trump administration
considers these practices a direct threat to national sovereignty and the
integrity of the American democratic system.
