Argentina Sends Experts to Ushuaia

Argentina is sending experts to Ushuaia—the Patagonian city from which the cruise ship currently harboring a hantavirus outbreak departed—to analyze rodents in search of the "possible presence of the virus," which has not yet been recorded in the region, the Ministry of Health reported on Wednesday.

Technical teams will travel to the capital of the province of Tierra del Fuego, located at Argentina's southernmost tip, "to carry out rodent capture and analysis operations in areas linked to the movements of the reported cases, and to detect the possible presence of the virus in natural reservoirs," the statement detailed.
