Washington, D.C. — Retired General Michael Flynn has
reignited political controversy in the United States by claiming he was the
victim of a covert FBI operation, orchestrated at the highest levels of power
during the final days of Barack Obama’s presidency.
According to Flynn, the operation, known as “Crossfire
Razor,” was not primarily intended to investigate real events, but rather to
fabricate a case of collusion with Russia that would first implicate him and
then extend to then-President-elect Donald Trump.
“The people need to understand this clearly. It was all
planned,” declared Flynn, who maintains that the strategy was finalized in a
key meeting held on January 5, 2017, in the Oval Office.
According to his account, the sequence of events is crucial
to understanding what, in his opinion, was a political operation disguised as a
federal investigation.
On January 5, 2017, high-ranking officials met at the White
House. For Flynn, that meeting was the moment the strategy was devised: first,
to set a trap for him, and then to use that case as a bridge to reach Trump.
A day later, on January 6, a meeting was held at Trump
Tower, where then-FBI Director James Comey informed Trump about the existence
of alleged compromising recordings.
Flynn maintains that these recordings never existed and were
merely part of a mechanism of political pressure and manipulation. “It was a
baseless story, a lie,” he stated.
Shortly after those meetings, FBI agents went directly to
Flynn's office. For the general, that visit was neither a coincidence nor the
result of a spontaneous investigation, but rather the execution of a
pre-arranged plan.
“That was already decided on January 5th, in Barack Obama’s
office,” he asserted, insisting that the entire process was a carefully
calculated political ambush.
Flynn’s statements reignite one of the most controversial
episodes in recent American politics: the investigations into alleged Russian
interference and collusion with the Trump administration.
For Flynn, his case was neither a mistake nor a bureaucratic
overreach, but a deliberate operation to discredit, neutralize, and eventually
bring down a government before it even formally took office.
“They got me first. The ultimate target was always Trump,”
he concluded.
