The Supreme Court authorizes the Trump administration to resume deportations to third countries

The U.S. Supreme Court issued a ruling allowing President Donald Trump's administration to overturn a lower court order that blocked the deportation of migrants to third countries without prior notice. With this decision, the high court temporarily enables the administration to move forward with one of its strictest immigration policies.

The ruling, adopted by a 6-3 majority, represents an immediate victory for the administration, which has insisted on the need to quickly implement stricter border control measures and removal procedures. The suspension of the previous order clears the way for federal authorities to resume the policy while litigation continues in lower courts.

In the vote, Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, and Ketanji Brown Jackson voted against granting the stay, arguing against allowing the policy to take effect before a full judicial review. However, the court's conservative majority determined that the government could proceed while the merits of the case were being considered.

The decision marks a new chapter in the series of legal disputes surrounding immigration policies and anticipates a broader debate about the scope of executive power regarding deportations and agreements with third countries.
