France officially unveils its ASMPA-R nuclear missile after integrating it into the French Navy's Rafale M fighter jets

For the first time, France has publicly revealed the modernized version of its ASMPA-R nuclear cruise missile, a strategic weapon now confirmed to be fully operational aboard the French Navy's Rafale M fighter-bombers.

The official display of this updated system marks a milestone for French nuclear deterrence, as the ASMPA-R incorporates substantial improvements in range, accuracy, and penetration capability against advanced defenses. Its integration into the Rafale M strengthens the naval air force's projection capabilities and consolidates the airborne component of France's deterrence triad.

With this addition, Paris reaffirms its commitment to maintaining a credible and modernized nuclear capability in a global context of increasing strategic tension and arsenal modernization by several nuclear powers.
