President Donald Trump confirmed on Friday that several
senior Iranian military commanders were killed in an overnight attack by Israel
on the country's nuclear weapons infrastructure.
Speaking to CNN, Trump told host Dana Bash, when pressed for
details, that the commanders did not "die of Covid" or "the
flu," alluding to Israel's overwhelming response after the president's
team spent weeks trying to reach a nuclear deal with Iran that would shift
efforts away from weapons manufacturing and toward civilian nuclear power
generation.
Trump also addressed the Iranian situation and the Israeli
attack on his Truth Social platform.
