Democratic Representative Hakeem Jeffries is receiving a
tremendous wave of criticism for "regretting" President Trump's
decision to attack Iranian nuclear targets.
The issue isn't that he regrets what he regrets, but that he
forgot what citizens do remember: that President Obama didn't seek
congressional approval when ordering strikes during his term, and then it was
war for the sake of war, Americans say.
"Donald Trump, and his actions, which do not appear to
be consistent with the United States Constitution, undertake unilateral
offensive military actions without seeking congressional approval. The use of
military force, which is offensive in nature, must be approved by the House of
Representatives and the Senate... It's not optional, Donald," Jeffries
said.
The Democratic representative follows the line of his party,
which is still deeply wounded after the 2024 electoral defeat and the announced
electoral defeat the following year, but wounds cannot be healed by forgetting
and unsustainable "regrets."
