Liberal Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor urged lawyers
to stand up to the Trump administration, in remarks sure to draw widespread
criticism, especially from the political right.
Sotomayor made these remarks Thursday night at a meeting
organized by the American Bar Association, the nation's largest legal
association. Her presence at the event was an act of solidarity, she told the
organization, according to NBC News.
"Amid the current uncertainty, this is our time to
stand up and be heard," she said. "Right now, we cannot lose the
battles we face."
However, Sotomayor also conveyed the current reality that
the Trump administration presents to the legal profession. /CBrief
